Review: Breathing Room
Author: Leeana Tankersley
Genre: CLWI, Christian Living
Short Book Description:
AN INVITATION TO BREATHE
Catastrophe or no catastrophe, if you are unhinged, disoriented, suffocating, or otherwise generally dragging, I’m inviting you to pull up a chair at this table . . .
Breathing Room is a beautiful release of self-condemnation, a discovery of the rest that comes when we offer ourselves some space to breathe. Vulnerable and winsome, Leeana Tankersley shows you how to stop beating yourself up, how to be radically on your own team, and how to truly experience grace. If you’ve been putting on a strong front and yet are secretly coming apart, you’ll find in these pages a trusted friend.
Just another book on how to let yourself go and give everything over to God, at least that’s what I thought at first when I opened up the book. I find that lots of the books out there talk about the same thing and come to the same conclusion at the end and don’t end up helping a person at all.
That’s not the case with this one though. Reading through what I did, I didn’t read it all just because I’m short on time these days, it opened up my eyes to how many people struggle with the same thoughts and torments from day to day. As I was reading, I kept thinking I’ve done that or I’ve been thinking like this for so long.
I can’t wait to finish this book as the time allows. I believe that this is a book that every woman should read this book at least once in their lifetime. It’ll give insight into your life and encourage the living daylights out of you.
