Not Since Romeo and Juliet Has a Couple Faced Odds This Long

The Cramers and Mosiers have been angry with each other for as long as anyone can remember. Things had cooled to a simmer…until Addie Cramer and Jonathan Mosier fell head over heels for each other. Now old tensions are renewed, and Addie’s parents insist she marry stolid and uninspiring Phillip Eicher.

Distraught at a future apart, the two decide their best hope is to reconcile the two families…but that means digging into the past to see what tore them apart. Will their love be enough to keep them together or will long-held secrets ruin their chance at happiness?

My Thoughts:

I loved this book. The tension, drama, and love at first sight all comes together in the remarkable story of Addie and Jonathan. Their families have had a grudge against each other for nearly three decades.

When Jonathan comes to Lancaster County to help his grandfather with his farm, he doesn’t expect to meet the lovely Addie his cousins, Mervin and Martin, talk about. But when he comes uninvited to Addie’s parents’ barbeque, he sees her for the first time.

Addie has been courted by Philip Eicher for the last while, but now she is starting to have doubts about whether he is the one for her. All she feels when she’s around him is emptiness. But all that changes when she meets a young shy man by the name of Jonathan. She never believed in love at first sight, but now she does.

But will their family feud keep them apart? Will their faith in God and their love for each other finally bring their families together in peace?

I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. At times it quite funny at other times the feelings that the characters went through had me on the brink of tears. So enjoy and have a good day.
