But then everything starts going wrong. Slow to recover from an injury, her ex-husband, Nick, begins pulling away just as they were starting to get close again. Meanwhile, when Joes wife lands in the hospital with a mysterious illness, their baby is kidnapped. As Carly chases down every lead in a desperate search to find the baby, her newfound faith is pushed to its limits.
My first ever police novel that I’ve read. Another keeper for on my shelf. I loved it from beginning to the end. The only drawback was that as it is the second book in the series, I didn’t have any background of the characters.
When Carly’s partner’s wife lands in the hospital with a mysterious illness, she tries to help out wherever she can. On thing she didn’t count on was getting her partner Joe’s son back for him. The four month old baby was kidnapped right under hospital personnel.
Carly and her ex-husband Nick are on the way to reconciling after their divorce. But when complication’s set in from a gunshot wound (I believe, it happened in the first book) Nick draws away from Carly, thinking that he wasn’t man enough for her if he couldn’t even be cop anymore.
Hope you enjoy.
